Who's who?
Gemma has been in childcare for over 23 years and has worked in a variety of settings before joining the preschool in 2017. Whilst working Gemma has completed studies such as an Fda in Childhood studies, a Building on Success qualification, focusing on improving language development, personal, social and emotional development and math in the early years sector. most recently a Trauma Informed Schools diploma. She is now studying for a NPQ in Early Years Leadership and undertaking a Wessex Women Leaders Programme.
Gemma has always had a passion for working with children and making a difference to their lives and education and she prides herself on striving to make changes and improvements to the setting where needed and supporting and guiding the team in a positive direction.
Emma has worked at the preschool for over 5 years and is a very passionate and enthusiastic member of staff. She is the deputy manager and is in charge of new intakes and settle ins for all the children and as the deputy DSL she supports the DSL with all safeguarding issues and reports.
Emma is very passionate about making a difference to the children and supports their play, learning a development very well. Emma has recently returned to studies taking on a Level 3 Cache course in SEND which she has really enjoyed, she has also recently become our Phonics lead for the setting, introducing our children to the start of our Read, Write Inc programme.
Kylie has worked in childcare for over 10 years and has lots of experience in different settings which she uses with full force here. She is a lively character who has lots of fun with the children and they really enjoy being with her. Kylie is a great asset to the team and is thriving in her role as SENDco for the preschool. She has great knowledge on this subject and also lots of experience in working with children with additional needs and other agencies that may be connected. She has recently undertaken further qualifications in this area and wishes to continue with her studies in the new academic year to keep feeding her thirst for knowledge in this area.
Paula has over 10 years experience of working in the childcare field and is very passionate about her job. Paula develops strong relationships with children and provides high quality interactions with the children. Paula is always mindful of the children's thirst for knowledge and is quick to engage the children and extend their knowledge whilst engaging in play with them. Paula is a strong, passionate fun member of the team.
Anne joined our team earlier on this year after she moved to the area. Anne has over 20 years experience working with children, leaving a deputy manager role when she moved to Dorset. Anne came to us wanting to take a back seat from the management role but still working in this field as she is very passionate about children's learning an developing. Anne is a very valued part of the team who brings a lot of fun and humour to the setting. She is always thinking about what to do next and is very creative in the ideas she has for activities for the children.
Chloe also joined the team earlier this year when our numbers increased, although Chloe does not have any qualifications for working with children, she does have children of her own and wanted to get into the profession as it was something that interested her. Chloe is a strong role model for the children who develops her relationships well. Chloe is learning as she goes and she picks things up very and is proving to be a very valued asset to the team. Chloe hopes to get into some studies related to childcare this academic year as it is something she would like to pursue further.
